What are the ingredients you never use in your products and the reasons behind this decision?

I avoid using chemical UV blockers such as Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, Homosalate, Octocrylene, Octisalate because many of these are linked to hormone disruption and skin allergies.

What has been the most exciting part of your journey creating this brand?

The most exciting part is hearing feedback from our customers of how our products have positively impacted their lives. It’s also quite exciting to experience the brand going from a concept/idea in my head to a full blown product line featured in major magazines! 

Which brands do you look for inspiration?

I look to the EWG to determine which ingredients to use and which to avoid using in my products.

What sets you apart from your competitors?

We use zinc-oxide as our only sunscreen active ingredient and zinc is extremely therapeutic to the skin so not only does it offer wonderful sun protection, but it is also therapeutic to the skin. All of our sunscreens earned #1 ratings by the EWG for 5 years in a row. Our Face Sunscreen/Primer won the Allure Best of Beauty Award in 2013 in the Natural Wonders category. Our product is made in the USA. Our products are vegan and cruelty-free. Our products are packaged in gorgeous unisex packaging that appeals to both men and women and they are made for the most sensitive of skin.
