Science: Facial Mists are not just a feel-good luxury. They offer hydration which is essential to skin health. By combining a water-based product (like our Elixirs) with an oil-based product (like our Serums or Balms), you are offering the skin all the nutrients and building blocks that it needs to be healthy. All plants contain antioxidants and micronutrients that are either water or oil soluble. Thusly, by offering your skin both plant waters and plant oils, you are feeding your skin everything it needs.

Ritual: Our Elixirs are the product I go through the most quickly because I use them the most generously. When my own skin is dehydrated, my own ritual might look something like this: Cleanse, Elixir, Serum, Elixir, Balm. Yep, when my skin is very dehydrated, I use our Elixir twice; in my morning ritual and again in my evening ritual. Especially in the winter months, dryer climates or when traveling, using more Elixir than normal can be a game changer!

Formula Update

Formerly our Normal/Mature Elixir. If you are seeking a product that smells like Rose hydrosol, then this may not be right for you. While Rose is still present and dominant in this formula, roots, barks, mushrooms and resin have been added or increased in quantity in order to make this formula more deeply hydrating, restorative, and diverse with beneficial plant compounds. We have made Marshmallow root a significant part of this formula, which has the ability to deeply hydrate fascia and move through stagnation with its minerals and mucilaginous compounds. Polysaccharides found in Reishi Mushroom and Saponins in skin-brightening Licorice root help to move through the lipid barrier. Resins and barks strengthen and promote cellular healing and repair with artisan distilled Sandalwood and Frankincense hydrosols. Vitamin C and all of its helpful co-factors are present in abundance in Hibiscus, Hawthorne, Schisandra and Rose petals. Rose is an excellent plant for sensitive skin, and ideal for strengthening and repairing a damaged delicate barrier. Rose can be found in this Elixir in five different forms: hydrosol, two different types of fresh heirloom petal infusions, Rosehip supercritical extract, and a hint of rare White Rose essential oil.

How to Use

Shake product well with each use and mist directly and generously onto clean skin, prior to a Serum or Balm.

Store this product in a cool, dry and dark place. Use within 6 months of opening and within 12 months of the manufacture date, which is noted on the bottom of the bottle.

Ingredients

Rose – Multitude of Roses! Rose hydrosol and rare White Rose essential oil both have hydrating and barrier strengthening properties. We’ve also added house made extracts of local heirloom roses within two different mediums, each which capture an abundance of nutrients such as Vitamin C, flavonoids, anthocyanin, and gallic acid. Roses are gentle and soothing to the skin, while deeply hydrating and supportive to connective tissue.

Marshmallow – Marshmallow Root is truly nature’s own hyaluronic acid. Simply add water, it drinks it all in and becomes gelatinous. It softens, smoothes and plumps the skin by infusing hydration into each and every cell.

Rose Geranium – Our Biodynamic® Rose Geranium Hydrosol from California is an extraordinary gem. Rose Geranium is strengthening and repairing to broken capillaries, as well as balancing to oil production, pH levels, and our microbiomes.

Calendula – Find both Calendula Hydrosol and a whole plant Calendula extract in this Elixir, in order to fully capture each medicinal compound within this powerhouse plant. Calendula is a powerful humectant that helps our skin retain its hydration and retain a supple glow. Calendula is a true tonic for our individual cell health, and can restore skin health like no other.

Astragalus – Astragalus has been closely studied and historically used for its ability to strengthen and repair telomeres, which are responsible for cellular aging. Telomere repair is essentially DNA repair. Astragalus is also anti-inflammatory, stimulates surface immunity, and supports connective tissue health.

Helichrysum – Grown in the Pacific Northwest and artisan distilled, our Helichrysum Hydrosol is no doubt powerful medicine. Cooling and soothing Helichrysum is deeply regenerative to the skin by restoring health and vitality on a cellular level.

Love this elixir

Laurel’s Elixir 1 is one if the best I have tried so far. My skin is normal/combination (dry in the winter), dehydrated and tends to get congested. I use this elixir every night before my oil but also alone the rare times I don’t feel like putting anything on my face...just a few sprays and my skin feels hydrated without any overly nourished feeling. Love this elixir!
