MEET JOANNE
Joanne was a salon stylist for over a decade before the birth of her special needs daughter inspired an awakening to the importance of living a clean and healthy lifestyle. Newly aware of the effects of harsh chemicals in personal care products, she made it her mission to develop clean, safe, non-toxic professional products for her family, salon colleagues and the clients they service. She is the heart and soul of Innersense Organic Beauty and the connection between clean, pure, beautiful products and the stylists and consumers who love them. A passionate proponent of self-care and the sacred clean beauty movement, Joanne leads our wellness initiatives, designs our beloved hair ceremonies and empowers our community to tap into their Innersense and fulfill their mind, body and spirit.

Greg was immersed in the beauty industry as a child through his mother’s successful cosmetic company. After working as a stylist for 12 years, Greg pursued an executive career in “big beauty” for some of the top hair care brands in the industry. Greg is the guiding light for Innersense Organic Beauty, our ingredient expert and a leading force in the clean beauty movement. His commitment to radical transparency raises the stakes on “clean beauty” with a focus on sustainably sourced, meticulously processed ingredients and an extensive “never any” list.

Sustainability Through Packaging
Our Commitment To Sustainability And The Environment
After in-depth research into sustainable packaging options, using post-consumer recycled (PCR) High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) emerged as the right choice for our brand. HDPE is one of the most widely recycled plastics, and the vast majority of consumers have access to curbside recycling for HDPE. In 2020, we transitioned over 80% of our bottles to 100% PCR HDPE with the intention to transition the remaining 20% to more sustainable materials in the near future. By purchasing PCR bottles, we are doing our part to increase the demand for recycled plastic, which we hope will have ripple effects towards improving the domestic recycling process. While the switch to recycled plastics is an environmental improvement for us, it is only the beginning: we are determined to utilize materials that lead us into a sustainable future and encourage a circular economy. As the sustainable packaging landscape evolves, we will continue to pursue more sustainable alternatives as they become available.
Our Mission In Action
In 2020, we announced our commitment to clean up the equivalent of the last 5 years of our plastic output with help from Plastic Bank. Going forward, we pledged to collect 150% of our annual plastic output. Becoming “plastic proactive” means your healthy hair journey provides benefits beyond you and your hair. Innersense Organic Beauty is committed to taking action by minimizing plastic pollution, supporting the cleanup of ocean-bound waste and uplifting coastal collector communities in the process.
