Rahua – Our Story
Rahua originated centuries ago in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest. The Quechua-Shuar, Achur, and other neighboring tribes discovered rahua oil and relied on this formula for healthy hair and skin. After discovering this oil on an excursion to the Amazon forest, the creators of Rahua beauty products wanted to partner up with these tribes to use this sacred oil.
All beauty products are designed to actively help people’s hair become rejuvenated and healthy. This brand is proud of the history and love poured into each and every bottle.
Respecting the traditional process for producing this oil is important to everyone involved. The brand strongly rests on the wisdom of the tribal people, creating a harmonic structure between the creators and indigeous people.
Rahua - Our Founder
Fabian Lliguin, a renowned hair stylist and colorist from New York city, was visiting the Amazon rainforest to help educate indigenous people about their land rights and human rights. Little did he know that his successful product line would have been inspired by the women in a native tribe. Their hair was lush, long and cascaded beautifully down their waists.
Intrigued, Fabian learned that for centuries these women were utilizing Rahua oil to nourish their hair and skin. They graciously offered him one bottle of this special oil, trusting him with their secret. It did not take long for Fabian to discover how special this oil was, soon creating Rahua Rainforest Grown Beauty.
Respecting the traditional makings of this tribal oil, both Fabian and his wife, Anna Ayers, work with these tribes to create Rahua products with their customers.
Rahua – Our Ingredients
The main ingredient used is the Rahua oil created by the indigenous people of the Amazon rainforest. This oil is the foundation that makes up Rahua, along with clean ingredients inspired by plants and nature’s generosity. Preserving the environment is a passion that all Rahua workers share, driving them to select only the cleanest sources of ingredients.
Not only has the company helped provide tools for full production and preservation of 150,000 acres of Amazon Rainforest, but has also earned the right to be labeled as a “carbon neutral company.” To further their efforts to save the planet, all Rahua packaging is recyclable, reusable, and pairs well with each highly concentrated formula per bottle.
