For the first time in 75 years, Congress has the opportunity to close the gaping holes in our outdated federal cosmetic law with the Personal Care Products Safety Act, introduced by Senators Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and Susan Collins, R-Maine. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics has been urging Congress to give the FDA the authority and resources it needs to better regulate the $71 billion cosmetics industry for more than a decade. Now, it looks like this important consumer health issue might finally have its day in court.
